We are currently recruiting for our client who are a maintenance company in the education sector who are looking to add an experience maintenance joiner to join their warm , friendly team.

  • Working hours of 37.5 hours per week 8am - 430pm or 1130am -8pm on rotation - the later shifts are 3 shifts in 10 weeks and working two weekends in a ten week cycle.

The company

The company is a well-established growing company, having been going from strength to strength over the years. They are a facilities management company who specialise in Facilities maintenance within the educational sector!  We have worked with them for over 10 years and can honestly say they are fantastic to work with they are incredibly down to earth whilst maintaining a brilliant level of professionalism. They have excellent processes in place meaning the operations are smooth and organised meaning your day is structured and organised. We have had many people work with them over the years who have always thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team. 

The role

Planned and Reactive Maintenance

  • Undertake maintenance within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all health and safety issues before work commences and report any hazards identified to the relevant Manager
  • Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all joinery work
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in accordance with the schedule
  • Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance
  • Liaise with specialist sub-contractors

 Health and Safety

  • Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residences ensuring all information is passed to the relevant persons


  • Assist colleagues in other trades and locations as and when the need arises
  • Undertake training as required
  • Participate in an on call rota, when required
  • Be prepared to work additional hours, as and when the need arises
  • Other duties as commensurate with the post
  • Work as part of a team
  • Friendly and approachable
  • IT literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Qualified in carpentry and joinery
  • Multi Skilled
  • Undertake training as required
  • Participate in an on call rota, and work during student arrival and departure when required
  • Fire door installation
  • Participate in an on call rota when required
  • Other duties as commensurate with the post
