We are currently recruiting for our client who are a maintenance company in the education sector who are looking to add an experience maintenance technician to join their warm , friendly team.

The company

The company is a well-established growing company, having been going from strength to strength over the years. They are a facilities management company who specialise in Facilities maintenance within the educational sector!  We have worked with them for over 10 years and can honestly say they are fantastic to work with they are incredibly down to earth whilst maintaining a brilliant level of professionalism. They have excellent processes in place meaning the operations are smooth and organised meaning your day is structured and organised. We have had many people work with them over the years who have always thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team. 

The role

Planned and Reactive Maintenance

  • Undertake maintenance task to both internal and external building fabric, including paving, small scale landscaping, inspection cover / manhole repairs, rendering, re-pointing and internal repairs including tiling, patching & plastering and repairs to flooring and stair treads etc.
  • Able to undertake minor refurbishment works to shower rooms kitchen & bathrooms.
  • Ability to assess all Health and Safety issues before work commences  and report any hazards identified to the relevant Manager
  • Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all fabric work
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance in accordance with the scheduling
  • Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance using CAFM tablet / device
  • Liaise with specialist sub-contractors

Statutory Testing

  • Carry out statutory testing including, fire alarm testing, fire door testing and others, as required

Health and Safety

  • Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residences ensuring all information is passed to the relevant persons

Other

  • Assist colleagues in other trades and locations as and when the need arises
  • Undertake training as required
  • Be prepared to work additional hours, as and when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends
  • Other duties as commensurate with the post

The person

  • You’ll be working independently under the maintenance supervisor, so you’ll be happy to manage your own workload
  • The role will involve a variation of tasks so you will need to be diverse
  • You’ll be customer focussed, and happy to go the extra mile for customers when required
  • You will have experience carrying out the listed tasks either on sites or for maintenance companies
  • You will utilise your years of experience to carry out the work to a high standard
  • You will need a driving license to be able to use the pool van to travel around site and to neighbouring sites
